They said, “We want to start a church in Valrico.” And I, with more passion than usual said, “Send me!” And two and a half years later, the United Methodist Church in Florida, did just that. Mind you, it only required a move back down the street into our home, but it might as well have been around the world. For that’s how dramatic the difference between church planting and serving as Associate Pastor at St. Andrew‘s just a few blocks away. I started with two – myself and my husband whose affinity, thankfully, is me and for church planting. I am applying to all that I do that old Nike saying, “Just do it!” For it’s tempting to wait until things are just right before braving all that is the new world of church planting but, here’s the thing – nothing ever makes it to just right except the porridge in a famous children’s story. So, here I am, writing my first post and wondering why I didn’t do it sooner.
